The Tulsa Junction Ry. is set in 1930 and is located between Tulsa and Sand Springs, Oklahoma. It is an "alternative history" model railroad which represents an all freight steam-powered terminal railroad following the route of the prototype Sand Springs Ry. interurban, but operated and organized like the Los Angeles Junction. The HO scale layout is currently under construction, but two switching zones will be operational by March. These will include the Tulsa interchanges (Frisco, Santa Fe, Midland Valley and Katy), a classification yard, a downtown switching district and a foundry district. The DCC system is NCE with plug-in throttles. I will be using car cards and waybills. Trackwork is built from the Central Valley kits with some modifications. The freight cars are for the most part from resin kits. The layout will take two operators for now. The benchwork currently wraps around three walls of a two car garage and two walls of what used to be a small dining room, and is about half the size of what will eventually be built. There is no scenery nor built-up structures as of yet, operation being the first priority this year.
